About siteSifter

siteSifter® and siteSifter Journal® is © 2005–2010 Greytower Technologies, a Swedish company registered with the Swedish tax authorities ("Skatteverket").

siteSifter Journal is a by–subscription service. Sale of subscriptions in the United Kingdom is handled through Greytower Technologies (UK) and invoiced from there. The service is delivered by Greytower Technologies (Sweden), operating on contract with Greytower Technologies (UK).

Originally created in 2002, siteSifter was first used that very autumn to complete a medium sized project for the Swedish Audit Office. 92 Swedish Government websites were tested using the WCAG 1.0 baseline in bulk mode.

In 2003 the Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB) chose to use siteSifter for the annual SOCITM Better Connected audits, and has continued to do so every year since. During these assessments siteSifter, again in bulk mode, tested 460+ UK Local Authority websites.

The bulk–mode assessment feature of siteSifter was again put to the test in 2005 when an even larger project was processed; in excess of 1,000 sites were tested as part of an audit done on behalf of the European Union.

Finally, also in 2005, siteSifter Journal became operative, giving clients direct access to the siteSifter tool. A number of organisations, including the RNIB, has since subscribed to this service.

Since the first version in 2002 siteSifter has processed a little more than five thousand sites. The experience gained is continuously used to improve the service we offer our clients.

The current version of siteSifter Journal is 2.10, released on the 10th of June 2010.
